Gillian Anderson and Lily James, who will (as this page was first to report) star in a stage version of the classic film All About Eve, directed by Ivo van Hove.
Producers Sonia Friedman and Fox Stage Productions officially confirmed my exclusives yesterday.
The movie starred Bette Davis as Margo Channing ā a stage goddess ā and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington, an unknown out to topple her.

Lily James (left) has most recently starred in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, while Gillian Anderson (right) most recently starred in The X-Files
Monica Dolan has been cast to play Karen (Margo’s best friend) who’s married to theatre producer Lloyd Richards, who will be played by Rhashan Stone. Sheila Reid will play Birdie, Margo’s no-nonsense dresser.
Van Hove adapts Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s screenplay, and the theatre show will feature one of the most famous lines in cinema history. It’s uttered by Margo at a cocktail party she’s hosting: ‘Fasten your seatbelts ā it’s going to be a bumpy night.’
The show will run at the Noel Coward Theatre from February 2 for 14 weeks. Tickets are on pre-sale from next Wednesday and for general purchase from Friday.
